Camp Medicine Bow Song Troop Cheer
Play Me

Oh I'm a hayseed.
My hair is seaweed
and my ears are made of leather
and they flop in rainy weather.
Oh gosh oh hemlock, HEY!
I'm tough as a pine knot, HO!
For I come from Medicine Bow,
Can't you see?
HEY, HEY, Bow for the bow.
RAH, RAH, Bow for the bow.
RAH, RAH, HOO-RAH, HOO-RAH.
Medicine Bow, RAH, RAH, RAH. YEA!
Play me!

Four Eight Two!
Four Eight Two!
You can put us to the test,
On our Honor do our best.
You can always hear us shout,
On the trail to Eagle Scout!
 Four, Eight Two! Huh!
Swimming Merit Badge:
Scouts taking the Swimming Merit Badge must complete the Swim Test in order to complete the merit badge.
This means a scout must be qualified as a 'swimmer'.
Climbing:
Also, for the older scouts, if you are planning on doing any climbing, rappelling or using the zip line at the Challenge Center you will be
required to wear long pants, so pack a pair of jeans.
Sending Mail:
Parents, if you are going to send a letter or "care" package to your son at camp, you should mail it before we leave for camp.
The mail usually takes an extra day or two to get to us. You can help mail get there faster by addressing it properly, for example:

        <Scouts Name>
        Medicine Bow - Weemat - Week #3
        Troop 482, Floral Park
        Yawgoog Scout Reservation
        61 Camp Yawgoog Road
         Rockville, RI  02873
Age Requirements:
Rifle Shooting - Scouts must have their parents signed off on the permission slip allowing their son to shoot.
Shotgun Shooting - Scouts must be 15 years of age or older and the parent must have already signed off on the permission slip
they submitted to allow their son to shoot.
Challenge Center (rope climbing activities) - Scouts must be 14 years of age or older except for Adventure I (AI) which is open to
          scouts ages 10-13.
Kayaking - Scouts must be 13 years of age or older and have passed the swim test and the kayaking orientation.
Electronics:
Please do not allow your son to bring a cell phone to camp. Troop 482 will enforce the camp rules and not allow scouts to have cell phones.
If a scout has a phone, it will be confiscated and returned to him at the end of the week on the bus ride home.
If your son brings an IPOD, mp3 player, or radio, he will be allowed to use it with headphones (earplugs) during downtime in his bunk only.
We will not allow boys to be walking around the camp or our campsite using these devices. Your help in explaining this to your son in advance would
        be appreciated.
Leaving Early:
If your son is leaving camp before the end of the week, please let us know.
Weekly Theme:
We are at Yawgoog during week 3 of their summer program. There is a different theme each week.
This year the theme for week 3 is SCi-Fi Week. "Science has been advancing through the years and maybe soon we'll all be living in our own Sci-Fi movies.
